Meet Mrs. Vaughn

Hi everyone! My name is Tara, aka Mrs. Vaughn. I spend my days as an elementary art teacher in Plano, Texas. I’ve been teaching for 15 years and love working with kids. This is definitely my dream job! I am passionate about creativity and firmly believe everyone can be an artist! 

I studied Art History at Brigham Young University and got to spend the summer of my junior year studying art in England, France, and Italy.  I also have a Masters Degree in Education from Southern Methodist University.  

 I started an art camp in 2019 thanks to my daughter and her friends’ encouragement. I transformed my dining area into an art studio and we had a blast! Thankfully, my furniture only suffered minor consequences.  We pivoted in 2020 and I hosted a virtual art camp through zoom. It was such a great way to deal with a bummer of a summer!  2021, 2022, and 2023 were great years of camps and I even added a camp for middle schoolers. I’m so excited about 2024, the new campers I’ll get to work with, and the amazing artwork we’ll create! Hope to see many of your kiddos this summer! We’ll definitely have some fun!
